Miami, FL. (May 16, 2025) – Wampi, the leading young star of Cuba’s urban music scene, signs a global agreement with Virgin Music Group to release his much-anticipated debut album, El Rey de la Habana (‘The King of Havana’).
Showcasing Wampi’s unique combination of street credibility, songwriting and multi-instrumental formal music training backed by an all-star Cuban band, the album will also feature collaborations with Cimafunk, Ibeyi, Los Van Van, Maffio, Michael Brun and many others. The first advance single, “Veni” has been released TODAY and is accompanied by an official music video that is now available via Wampi’s official YouTube channel.
The track finds Wampi and Colombian producer Joe on the Beat creatively blending the sounds and rhythms of reparto (right down to the genre’s classic ‘Po-Po-Po-Po’ chant & signature toe point dance) with more universal reggaeton elements to create a fresh, new party music that’s colorful and international. The result is bound to find “Veni” lighting up the streets of Havana and nightclubs spanning Madrid, Medellin, Mexico City, and Miami.
“Wampi is truly an exciting singer and is ready to take on the world with his fusion of reggaeton and reparto,” said Armando Rodriguez, SVP & GM of US Latin for Virgin Music Group. “We look forward to working with his team on their goals for the new album and finding the right opportunities to expand Wampi’s audiences into new territories.”
“I don’t have enough words to thank @virginmusic & @virginmusiclatin for believing in my vision and walking with me on this journey. Every step, every achievement, has been possible thanks to the team that has my back” says Wampi. “The album cover is not just an image… it is a reflection of everything I had to leave behind. Sleepless hours, moments away from my family, closed doors, doubts, falls… but also a faith that I never let die. This album is my sacrifice made into music. This is my truth, and every song has a part of me…To my people: what’s coming is not just music, its evolution, its art, it’s soul. Thank you for being there from the start… brace yourselves, we’re just warming up.”

ABOUT WAMPI
Wampi is the voice of his generation of young Cubans. Singer, songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and dynamic live performer, Wampi has been astonishing live crowds and dropping hits since releasing his first song at the age of 15.
A graduate of Havana’s Paulita Concepcion music conservatory as a saxophonist, Wampi combined his classroom knowledge with his upbringing in the gritty Arroyo Naranjo neighborhood, quickly becoming the face of Reparto-a musical movement that fuses the slang and urban rhythms of the streets with traditional Cuban music.
After taking over the streets, clubs and living rooms of Cuba and Peru, where he has performed in stadiums, Wampi continues to be a trailblazer carrying the torch of the reparto movement. He’s already the first Reparto artist to be welcomed to the Recording Academy as a voting member. And has now, signed with Virgin Music Group.
Just 22 years old, Wampi’s hits maleante, tóxica, la diferencia, clímax, pornostros, suéltate puty and orgullo have garnered over 100 million views on YouTube and millions of streams on Spotify, where he enjoys 600k monthly listeners. His new album, El Rey de La Habana will introduce reparto music to the world- while also creating broader fusions with salsa, funk, bachata, reggaeton and other genres in collaborations with many of today’s most respected Latin artists.
